About My Work...
I work with individuals, couples, and families who are experiencing relationship challenges, emotional distress, feelings of disconnection, or patterns that seem difficult to change. Many people come to therapy because they want things to feel different—whether that means communicating more effectively, arguing less, feeling closer to the people they love, managing anxiety or emotional overwhelm, navigating a life transition, or simply feeling more at peace within themselves.
I welcome clients from a wide range of cultural backgrounds and life experiences and strive to create a space where people feel respected, understood, and accepted.
My work is grounded in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), an approach that helps us slow down and make sense of the emotions and patterns that shape both our relationships and our inner experiences. Rather than focusing only on the surface problem, we explore what may be happening beneath the surface—the fears, longings, hurts, and needs that often go unseen.
In many relationships, this can look like one person reaching for closeness while the other pulls away, leaving both feeling hurt, alone, or misunderstood. Similar patterns can also show up within ourselves as self-criticism, anxiety, emotional overwhelm, loneliness, or feeling stuck and disconnected from who we want to be.
In therapy, we approach these experiences with curiosity and compassion rather than judgment or blame. As we begin to understand the patterns more clearly, new possibilities for connection, healing, and change can emerge.
My role is to help you make sense of what you are experiencing, understand yourself more deeply, and support you in building more secure, connected, and emotionally grounded relationships—with yourself and with the people who matter most to you.
Alongside my EFT-based approach, I am currently completing EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) training, an evidence-based approach that helps process distressing or traumatic experiences that may continue to affect emotional well-being, relationships, and daily life.
Clinical Supervision for Therapists
I offer clinical supervision to therapists, social workers, and counsellors who want a reflective space to think about their clinical work and continue developing their practice.
Supervision with me is collaborative and focused on reflection, clinical thinking, and building confidence in practice. I work with both new and experienced clinicians.
Background & Experience
I hold a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) in Clinical Counselling from Tyndale University (2017) and bring over 10 years of clinical experience across family service agencies, mental health clinics, medical settings, and community organizations.
Having lived and studied in Canada, Hong Kong, and Beijing, I bring a culturally responsive and inclusive perspective to my practice and support clients from diverse backgrounds and life experiences.

A note on what makes this work:
Therapy works best when we're both in it. So in addition to what I bring, I'll ask you to:
-
Show up especially when it's hard. Some of the most useful sessions are the ones you almost cancelled.
-
Stay curious about your own patterns. Including the ones you've been hoping were someone else's fault.
-
Bring up what's hard with me, too. If something I said landed wrong or a session felt off, tell me. Repair in the room is part of the work.
The more honest we can be together, the more therapy can do.
